Ludlow Junior Triathlon Club is a small friendly club for young people aged 8 – 18 years. The training sessions, run by British Triathlon Federation and Amateur Swimming Association qualified coaches are held weekly throughout the year, accept for the month of August, at Lucton School, Leominster, Herefordshire.
The club has the use of Lucton School’s indoor 22m swimming pool and it’s playing fields for running and biking. Each training session is specifically planned to improve the junior atheletes technique in swimming, bike handling and run skills, including transistion practise. Everyone is given the opportunity to develop their skills up to academy level. Time trials are regularily held to monitor progress. During the winter we use the school’s sportshall to improve technique and core strength through innovative game play.
All junior members are encouraged to enter local aquathlons, duathlons and triathlons and if atheletes attain the target times in swimming and running they will have the opportunity to attend regional talent days.
In October 2018 Ludlow Junior Tri Club attained the TriMark Bronze Accreditation. The coaches and some junior triathletes can be seen accepting the award in the picture (Left)
